Palermo wage war against littering: Control activities by Rap and municipality and provincial police begin

A protocol of intent has been signed between Rap, the provincial police, and the municipal police of Palermo to address issues of cleanliness and migration. Actions will be taken to clean and control certain areas of the city that have become dumping sites for mixed waste. The cleaning operations will be followed by intensified policing from both the municipal and provincial police. The campaign will focus on specific areas within the city and will involve informing residents, enforcing regulations, and imposing sanctions on those who violate them. The ultimate goal is to combat the growing problem of waste abandonment and improve the overall cleanliness of the city. The initiative was initiated by Mayor Roberto Lagalla and supported by the municipal councilor for Environmental Policies, Andrea Mineo, who believes that prevention, punishment, and repression are crucial in managing the city’s waste.
