Palermo towards the “red”: over 250 positive out of 100 thousand inhabitants

Over 250 points out of 100,000 inhabitants. These are the provisional data transmitted by the commissioner for the Covid emergency relating to the municipality of Palermo. The numbers recorded in the week from March 30 to April 5 indicate 1,763 new positives. A number that represents 275.2 positives per 100 thousand inhabitants. A fact that pushes Palermo more and more towards the red zone.

“In recent days, we have seen an increase in infections in the city of Palermo, with a consequent growing pressure on the intensive care units. The parameters for declaring the ‘red zone’ have not yet been reached but I would not exclude, tomorrow (today ed.), The adoption of the measure, in agreement with the mayor, as a useful preventive measure to avoid the peak of positive at Covid. The mayor of Palermo can in the meantime, if he deems it, take restrictive initiatives also on the school front ”.
This was stated by the president of the Sicilian Region Nello Musumeci, after a discussion yesterday afternoon with the leaders of the regional health department.
