Palermo, teatro, cinema e grande musica al Conca d’Oro Summer Fest

Everything is ready for the first edition of the “Conca d’Oro Summer Fest” at the Lanza di Scalea Shopping Center. From July 28th to August 25th, five weekends of pure relaxation and fun await, with a rich program featuring cabaret shows, musical evenings, outdoor cinema, and finally the Night of Gold with the opening of all the shops in the Shopping Center until midnight. The events of the Festival are all free and open to the public, with comedians and actors such as Roberto Lipari, I Soldi Spicci, I Sansoni, and many others. Massimo Minutella will direct and coordinate the shows, while the precious collaboration of Cinema E-Planet King will be used for the screening of the six Sicilian-made films.

The festivities kick off on Friday, July 28th with I 4 Gusti, who will perform in a hilarious cabaret show, sharing the evening with Massimo Minutella & The Lab Orchestra. The films that will be screened in the following three weekends of August are: “The Godfather” on Friday 4th, “Stranizza d’amuri” on Saturday 5th, “Il grande giorno” on Friday 11th, “Tuttaposto” on Saturday 12th, “Un mondo sotto social” on Friday 18th, and “Picciridda con i piedi nella sabbia” on Saturday 19th.

The grand finale will take place on Friday, August 25th with a show by “I Sansoni,” the well-known comic duo from Palermo, who will perform their most famous sketches in collaboration with Massimo Minutella & The Lab Orchestra. On this occasion, after 7 years, the White Night will be relaunched (renamed as the Night of Gold), meaning that the Conca d’Oro Shopping Center will keep all its shops open until midnight.

“We are very pleased to create an event this summer that I hope will become a tradition in the coming years,” explains Andrea Chiarioni, director of the Shopping Center, “and that will allow Conca d’Oro to become not only a place of commerce but also of entertainment and relaxation.”

“I am very happy to be part of the first edition of the Conca d’Oro Summer Fest,” says Massimo Minutella, the artistic director of the event. “It is an event entirely Made in Sicily, with Sicilian artists, screenings of Sicilian films, and two evenings of good music and comedy. Finally, we can gather in large spaces without any restrictions or social distancing, and all that is needed is social interaction through big events like music and comedy. All you need is to be present, as the admission is completely free.”

To promote the event, in addition to a massive communication campaign in the city and online, a very original guerrilla marketing activity will also take place on the beaches of Mondello, Isola delle Femmine, and Capaci on weekends from July 22nd to August 5th. Numerous Conca d’Oro branded beach umbrellas will be placed on some free beaches before the arrival of bathers. Hostesses will distribute flyers with the festival’s schedule, and people can take home the umbrella they find upon arrival.
