Palermo, the Pasqualino Museum will preserve Giuseppe Messina’s collection of Sicilian puppets

#Agrigento
Giuseppe Messina Di Prima, from Canicattì, was a passionate advocate for Sicilian traditions. He founded the “Re di Coppe” association and published the magazine La Virrina, which promoted Sicilian culture and traditions. His private collection of puppets is now on display at the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum in Palermo. Martino Rabuazzo, a friend of Giuseppe’s, also has a private collection of over 350 puppets. The collection includes a small theater made by renowned puppeteer Antonio Sapuppo. The puppets, made from quality materials, are painted with acrylic colors. The narratives in the theater are inspired by medieval poems and chivalry. The family appreciates the museum staff for their preservation and accessibility of the collection.
