88 million for the expansion of the public transport fleet
PALERMO, 1 April – About 88 million euros for the upgrade and renewal of the bus fleet in Palermo.
This is the summary of the financing approved yesterday by the Ministry of Transport which assigns this sum to the municipality of Palermo for the purchase of new zero-emission vehicles with electricity or hydrogen power for the public service.
According to the minimum, intermediate and final targets indicated in the financing provision, the Municipality of Palermo will have to purchase 32 buses on behalf of Amat by the end of 2024 and 125 by 30 June 2026.
“A further confirmation – said Mayor Leoluca Orlando – of the need and the possibility of investing in the enhancement of mass public transport with a very low environmental impact.
All within a framework that sees Amat as the protagonist of sustainable mobility in Palermo”.
