Palermo, too many defaulters and the Amap removes the water: we start with a building with 60 users
Sunia intervenes on the AMAP cuts to defaulting users, which could also lead to the suspension of the water service for many families in difficulty. The tenants union today sent a note to the CEO of Amap Alessandro Di Martino and to the mayor Roberto Lagalla, expressing concern about the announced suspension of water services for thousands of “possibly domestic” users.
«While sharing the need for the reorganization of the company’s balance sheets – writes the secretary Sunia Palermo Zaher Darwish – we believe that the choice of timing is nothing short of inappropriate. At this moment, it is well known that the repercussions of the war in Ukraine on the exponential increase in the costs of energy and petroleum products are causing devastating effects both for companies and for many families ». The Sunia of Palermo therefore appeals to the Amap company management and the mayor to adopt “all the useful measures to safeguard a vital need and a right such as drinking water for all families, especially those with socio-economic hardship but also for the many companies in difficulty, many of which have already declared that they are ready to close ».
