Palermo signs new maintenance contract with Natuna for Ismett

Palermo, nuovo appalto per la manutenzione all’Ismett: accordo con la società Natuna

Changing contract for maintenance at Ismett: an agreement has been reached with the company Natuna srl that will guarantee salary and employment levels. The new contract has already started from June 1st. In the new contract specifications, Ismett had modified the economic conditions and the organization of services, effectively reducing the workforce on some services and opting instead for availability.

“The Natuna company, which has won the contract for another 8 years under the new conditions, has been present at the Mediterranean Institute of Transplantation since the previous contract change in 2008, they had informed us that they were unable to guarantee the actual salary of their employees, an unsustainable wage gap with double-digit inflation,” say the general secretary of Filcams Cgil Palermo Giuseppe Aiello and the provincial secretary of Filcams, with a delegation to multiservices, Manlio Mandalari.

Filcams Cgil, although there was no sight of job loss on the horizon, but a possible reduction in working hours and the consequent loss of wages, strongly wanted the contract change meeting to take place “in a protected setting”, at the provincial labor office, where after two meetings they came out with a definitive negative outcome of the procedure.

“For us, the company’s conditions were unacceptable,” add Aiello and Mandalari. “The negotiations went on endlessly without any profit, but in the final rush yesterday, the parties reached an agreement.”

Filcams has managed to reach an agreement that provides for the application of the fifth level of the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Multiservices for all workers. “This is an important result, which not only recognizes the role of skilled multifunctional workers, but also provides for a availability allowance of 75 euros,” add Aiello and Mandalari. “It was achieved thanks to the unity and determination of the workers who remained united until the end of the negotiation, also managing to obtain a meal voucher of 8 euros per day.”
