Palermo: Monterosso accused, prosecutor requests 7 years

Architect and “false repentant” Giuseppe Tuzzolino is facing potential consequences for his accusations against Patrizia Monterosso, director of the Federico II Foundation and former secretary general of the Region. The deputy prosecutor Francesca Dessì has requested a seven-year sentence for Tuzzolino in the trial for defamation and false testimony against Monterosso. The prosecutor outlined six different episodes of defamation and one false testimony against Tuzzolino before Judge Salvatore Flaccovio. The request for conviction, supported by Monterosso’s lawyer Roberto Mangano, originates from Tuzzolino’s statements in 2016, where he accused Monterosso of being involved with the mafia and serving as a mediator between them and the former president of the Region, Raffaele Lombardo.
