It had already been established in the spring that two squatters were almost acting as the guardians of the Fair. However, yesterday, after a report was filed denouncing their shady presence (as previously reported by the Giornale di Sicilia), they seemed to have vanished. Assessor Giuliano Forzinetti went among the pavilions in the morning and could not find them. Last July, their “disturbing” presence in a municipal space had been documented and sent to the municipal police, led by Commander Angelo Colucciello. Even the police officers were unable to locate them in the three months during which those two men, known to all as “workers of the structure,” who were seen opening warehouse doors and gates with keys obtained somehow, remained essentially invisible to checks.
