Palermo, mafia’s asset handed over to Quarto Savona Quindici

The mafia gives a benefit to an association that keeps alive the memory of the Capaci massacre. Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi attended a ceremony in Palermo where Mayor Roberto Lagalla handed over confiscated property to the Quarto Savona Quindici association. The association is led by Tina Montinaro, wife of Antonio, who was the bodyguard of Giovanni Falcone and was killed on May 23, 1992. Piantedosi mentioned the significance of reclaiming the proceeds from the mafia’s criminal activities and returning them to society. Lagalla emphasized the association’s social commitment against the mafia and the sacrifice of Antonio Montinaro. The property is expected to become a venue for new initiatives promoting legality. Montinaro expressed her gratitude and noted the emotional significance of the delivery occurring on the day her late husband would have turned 61.
