Palermo kiosk damaged by fire seized in Scaffa square

In Palermo, municipal police officers seized a kiosk in Piazza Scaffa near the Ponte Ammiraglio, declared a UNESCO heritage site. The officers placed seals on the run-down structure, which was damaged by a fire in November 2023. Investigations are ongoing to determine the ownership of the kiosk, which seems to belong to the Municipality of Palermo based on initial checks. The seizure was carried out because the area is abandoned, full of waste, and dangerous for pedestrians and residents.
