With the beginning of the summer season, the police have reinforced their services aimed at screening the regularity of numerous establishments located throughout the territory of Palermo, which, in addition to serving food and beverages, also offer public performances and dancing nights.

In this context, already in the month of June, police officers and operators from the Public Health Agency (ASL) carried out administrative checks in the area of Piazza Magione, during which numerous irregularities were found.

The manager of the Dandy pub had been fined for playing loud music outside the establishment, and the sound equipment was seized administratively for 5 days. The owner was also investigated while at large for not complying with the occupation of public space, arbitrarily increasing the granted portion of land by a total of 100 square meters.

The inspection of the Ammaciuni pizzeria led to the investigation, while at large, of the manager for occupying approximately 180 square meters of public space without authorization. Additionally, the absence of the prohibited gambling sign was contested.

The owner of the Guda bar was also investigated while at large for occupying public space in violation of the 48-square-meter municipal authorization, using an additional 80 square meters.

Even the historic district of Vucciria, a traditional attraction for the city’s youth nightlife, was monitored by the police, who conducted strict checks over the past weekend based on the “Alto Impatto” security protocol. These checks aimed to protect the safety of those present and ensure fair competition among traders.

During the operations, substantial operational units were deployed, ensuring a significant presence in the area. By monitoring the designated area, the operators were able to administratively seize two metal and wood counters and a vertical glass refrigerator used for selling bottled alcoholic beverages in public areas, targeting unknown individuals.

Furthermore, inspections were carried out in commercial establishments, without finding any irregularities in this case. The State Police’s action against any form of abuse in public performances and commerce in general will continue in the coming weeks.
