Palermo grants honorary citizenship to director Pietro Carriglio

The Mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, will confer honorary citizenship to theater director Pietro Carriglio tomorrow, June 12. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 am at Palazzo Palagonia. Carriglio is being recognized for his artistic and organizational work as director of the Teatro Biondo Foundation, which turned the theater into a public institution in December 1986, starting seasons of recognized artistic quality enriched by national and international collaborations. He is also being honored for his dedication, tenacity, creative ability, and scenic taste, which have guided him in his prestigious role as superintendent of the Teatro Massimo Foundation and in promoting initiatives that led to the reopening of the Teatro Bellini, the city’s oldest theater, in the 2000s.
