Palermo fined for throwing ice cubes at Como fans

The sports judge of the Serie B Germana Panzironi, assisted by Stefania Ginesio and the representative of the Italian Referees Association Edgardo Pansoni, sanctioned Palermo for throwing ice cubes at the Como fans located in the away sector of the Barbera stadium. The fine of 4,000 euros was imposed on the Rosanero club because its supporters, according to the reasons for the measure, threw ice cubes without harmful consequences.

The sanction was mitigated due to the collaboration of the viale del Fante club in trying to control excesses. In fact, the club immediately created a cordon of stewards between the south curve and the away sector to stop the excesses. The penalty for Palermo is heavier than what is usually imposed for throwing a flare on the pitch, because it is considered a greater risk to public order throwing objects at other people than objects in the field.
