Palermo, declares to the Order that he has a degree in Pisa: a false dentist is revealed

“We are concerned and outraged. Non-existent degrees, false declarations, abusive studies, franchises or low cost chains that only look to profit, which add to the advertising of treatments below cost, sometimes unjustified or excessive and which have nothing to do with the real needs of the patient. What is emerging is a real assault on the profession that puts people’s health at risk”. Thus, in a note, the president of the Commission for dentistry registers (CAO) of Palermo, Mario Marrone, intervenes on the umpteenth attempt to circumvent the rules for practicing the profession illegally which has seen Giuseppe Paladino falsely declare to the order of surgeons and dentists that he graduated in Pisa with honors in order to obtain enrollment in the reference register.
«Today the abuse was fortunately stopped in time – continues Marrone – thanks to a complaint from the president of the order Toti Amato, who today is the offended party, with the legal support of the lawyers Mauro Torti and Corrado Nicolaci. However, the indignation of a dishonest practice that has turned into a real ‘healthcare’ scourge throughout the country remains. In compliance with the constitutional principle of not guilty until the final sentence, as president of the Commission I can only underline the concerns of dentists who practice the profession with responsibility and medical culture”.
To tell the story, the lawyers of the OMCEO: «Giuseppe Paladino has presented an application for registration in the register of dentists of the provincial medical association, declaring that he graduated in Pisa with the highest marks. After the checks, which the OMCEO punctually orders in its role as a subsidiary public body of the State, the name of Paladino was neither a graduate nor qualified in the Tuscan university. Hence the complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office. A sentence of 20 days in prison or a 1,500 euro fine for forgery in a public deed opposed by Paladino’s defense is now pending on him, as an alternative he has asked for assignment to the Institute of Socially Useful Works (Lsu). Judge Annalisa Tesoriere has set the hearing for February 2nd
