Palermo: charity evening 'Do you want to dance with me'

Parkinson’s disease fundraiser, world day is 27 November

Beat Parkinson’s to the sound of tango: this is the idea behind the ‘Want to dance with me’ initiative promoted by the Marco Sacchi association for Sunday 28 November hours 18.30 – Saturday 27 November 2021 marks World Parkinson’s Disease Day. A charity evening organized at the Real Teatro Santa Cecilia in Palermo in order to raise funds for the Action Parkinson association in Sicily. The famous group InarArTrio (ex Sicilian Trio) for the occasion will tread the stage with an exciting and engaging show dedicated to the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. Argentine tango dancers Silvina Larrea and Pablo Pouchot will dance to his passionate notes.

The classical instruments of the Trio – formed by the musicians: Fabio Piazza (piano teacher at the “Alessandro Scarlatti” Conservatory in Palermo), Silviu Dima (first violin of the Theater

Massimo di Palermo) and Giorgio Gasbarro (he was first cello at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo) – will meet the energy of the drums, of the percussion of Giovanni Apprendi and

of the electric bass by Riccardo Anselmo. The music will then take shape with the performance of the famous Argentine Tango couple, Silvina y Pablo.

The tried and tested tango people of Civitas Tango SSD have been collaborating for some time with Marina Rizzo, Past President of the Italian Medical Association of Palermo and Scientific Coordinator of the Parkinson Action Association in Sicily for a pilot project of Rehabilitation in Parkinson’s with Dance – Movement – Therapy. Tango is one of the most effective forms of complementary rehabilitation for this pathology.

The project is part of the main action of the Marco Sacchi Association and that is to encourage a

new culture of information / training that takes into account the values ​​of ethics,

human relations, health protection and consequently also collaboration and

mutual support between associations.
