Palermo, Brancaccio industrial area lighting system on

The industrial area of Brancaccio in Palermo, Sicily now has a new public lighting system, with an overall project cost of almost 3 million euros. The project includes refurbishing several streets and replacing around 250 lamps and 30 lighting poles. Additionally, the cleaning of approximately 390 rainwater grates, the completion of vertical and horizontal signage, the renovation of a roundabout, and the pruning of around 250 large trees were also part of the project. The transfer of the system’s maintenance to the municipality of Palermo was also announced. This initiative is intended to improve the safety and efficiency for the numerous businesses and daily workers in the area. The project is seen as a step towards the revitalization of the city, providing a safer environment for pedestrians, drivers, and businesses in a previously neglected area.
