Palermo, another setback for Rap: 40 Reset workers to be hired.

#Palermo
The Rap, a waste management company in Palermo, is at risk of adding another negative sign to its balance sheet. The company’s lawyer, who is assisting in a lawsuit brought by approximately 40 workers from the company Reset who were left out during a personnel transfer in 2016, has already made it clear that Rap will lose the case. The judge has proposed an order of pacification which essentially suggests a honorable and more convenient settlement: integrating the winners of the lawsuit into the workforce through a mobility program, in exchange for giving up past sums owed by the company. This settlement would save the company a considerable amount of money.

This comes as a relief for the company, as they have already suffered a loss of over 3 million euros in the first half of the year. The company is also dealing with the industrial supply plan, where the costs of services must align with the renewed need to take on more personnel in order to improve garbage collection and ensure the proper functioning of the Bellolampo landfill, which is constantly plagued by problems and additional costs.

The Rap and its partner, the Municipality, have a short amount of time to accept the offer and settle the case. Without an agreement, a verdict will be issued in October, which, as the company’s defense lawyer had already warned, will likely result in a condemnation for Rap.
