Palermo airport railway station changes name to Falcone-Borsellino
Starting from December 3rd, the Falcone Borsellino Airport railway station in Palermo will officially change its name to “Palermo Airport”. This change was confirmed by Trenitalia and the Region after a circular was circulated on social media announcing the name change. The airport station is part of the railway network and the change of name aims to highlight the station’s function in connecting the airport. The new name will make it easier for travelers to book tickets to reach Palermo Airport. While locals may continue to refer to it as “Punta Raisi station”, officially it will soon have a new name. The change is aimed at making it more intuitive for both tourists and locals.
