A new violent attack occurred in the Pagliarelli prison in Palermo. According to the regional secretary for Sicily of the autonomous prison police union, the aggression was caused by a dangerous inmate who fueled tension in the facility. The attack took place in the Mari section of the prison, where the inmate attempted to assault another prisoner but ended up hitting a police officer with a powerful punch, causing the officer to fall to the ground. The injured officer was taken to the hospital for treatment. The union representative expressed solidarity with the injured colleague and emphasized the growing violence faced by prison police, calling for intervention from authorities to restore safety.
