Nino Strano: From Deputato and Senator to Renowned Director

Former deputy and senator Nino Strano passed away this morning in Catania at the age of 73 after a long illness. His political career began at the City Council of Catania, where he was elected in 1976 with the MSI party, serving until 1993. He then became a regional deputy and was reconfirmed until 2001 with National Alliance. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2001 and then to the Senate in 2006. Strano was also involved in the arts, working as an assistant director for various theater and film productions. He also served as the vice president of Cinesicilia and the artistic director of the Mythos Opera Festival. In 2017, he published a book titled Je ne regrette rien – La libertà è un hula hoop.
