At the cultural sites Zisa reviews heterodox music

(ANSA) – PALERMO, 28 MAR – Second weekend for “Prima Vera Contemporanea – Review of Heterodox Music”, organized by ‘Curva Minore’: Friday 1 April, at 9 pm, at the Goethe Institut, at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa with the first national concert “Isole-Passaggi” by the Palermo composer and pianist Giovanni Damiani.
A proposal of rare plays between the twentieth century and the present, rhythmic and modal studies by important Central European, Ukrainian and Russian composers united by research of international importance.
A moment will also be dedicated to Russian works of the revolutionary period, combined with the Ukrainian contemporary Liatoschinskij, and works by very young Ukrainians active in the international field.
Damiani’s new composition explores the piano as a generator of tone-harmonies, focusing on a very Spartan use of registers and intervals, from whose intensive exploitation all the possible perceptual variety explodes.
Saturday 2 April, at 7 pm, in the Sala Perriera dei Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, the festival will continue with the concert “Forest of Sound” with the Estonian musicians Anna-Liisa Eller (kannel) and Taavi Kerikmäe (electronics, synthesizer, theremin), who they share a passion for ancient music and contemporary music.
Sunday 3 April, at 9 pm, again at the Zisa Cultural Yards, it will be the turn of Dario Buccino and Dejana Sekulic who will present the “Temporality of the Impossible” project.
Curated by Valeria Cuffaro, wife of Lelio Giannetto, founder of ‘Curva Minore’, who died in December 2020, the review will continue until May 15 and offers a listening and interaction path with musicians and performers active in the contemporary music scene European.
