The film “Iddu” will also be screened in Campobello di Mazara at the Olimpia “Gregorio Mangiagli” cinema-theater, with three daily screenings from October 24th to 29th (excluding the 26th) at 10 am for schools and at 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm for adults. The mayor of Campobello di Mazara, Giuseppe Castiglione, announced this. In the city where Matteo Messina Denaro spent the last years of his time on the run, citizens will have the opportunity to watch the film.

“Combatting the mafia also involves culture – said Mayor Castiglione – we must understand the phenomenon and talk about it as much as possible to defeat it. The capture of Messina Denaro, who in the last years of his fugitive status had also lived in Campobello, covered by some supporters, but among many law-abiding and unaware people of his presence – continues the mayor – represented a fundamental historical moment for the liberation of our territory, giving us the awareness that, to defeat the mafia, a common effort is needed that must start from everyone, but especially from the youth.”
