Migrants still having lunch with the firefighter in Lampedusa

At another firefighter’s home, Antonello Di Malta, a dozen migrants showed up for lunch. Just like last night, Antonello’s 84-year-old mother, Teresa, got back in the kitchen to cook two pots of pasta. The table was set with chilled water bottles, and the migrants, who were also minors but from a different group compared to those who dined at the Di Malta-Giardina’s house last night, showed great appreciation for Teresa’s cooking. Along the streets of the town center, many Lampedusans, seeing young migrants wandering in search of food, competed to buy trays of pasta or pieces of roast to give to the migrants who sat down to eat at the local tables.
