During a press conference, in the presence ofCouncilor for Civil Protection Massimiliano Minutoliwere illustrated today fire prevention activitiesthe behavioral rules to be kept and the related activities envisaged by the municipal emergency plan, as part of the 2022 Fire Prevention Campaign.
The meeting was attended by the Civil Protection expert Antonio Rizzo, the Director of the Regional Civil Protection Department Sicilian Bruno Manfrè, the Provincial Commander of the Fire Brigade Salvatore Tafaro, the Head of the Departmental Inspectorate of Forests of Messina Giovanni Cavallaro and representatives of the Civil Protection Voluntary Associations.
“We start from the assumption that greater controls on the territory generate a lower incidence of fires and on this assumption it is essential today – said Councilor Minutoli – to take stock of the activities planned to combat the risk of fires in the Messina area and in particular on the prevention measures adopted against forest fires and interfaces, on the municipal ordinance n.
45 of 23 May 2021, with effect from 1 June to 30 September 2022, on the behavioral rules for the population to be kept in a situation of fire risk and on the useful emergency numbers to be activated for prompt intervention by specialized personnel at the fire site .
The stipulation of an agreement between the regional Civil Protection, the Forestry Corps and the Fire Brigade allows – as was specified during the interventions at the press conference – the use of greater means and resources during the intervention phase on site, but also at a preventive level.
