Messina. Flags at half mast to the Municipality as a sign of condolences for the Italians killed in Congo

The Mayor of Messina, Cateno De Luca, in accepting the invitation that the President of Anci, Antonio Decaro, addressed all Italian Mayors, proclaimed for today the display of the flags of the Town Hall at half mast as a sign of condolence for the brutal execution of the Italian ambassador in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Luca Attanasio, of Vittorio Iacovacci, the carabiniere of his escort, and of Mustapha Milambo, the driver who accompanied them, who left all Italians dismayed.

“It is in the name of all Italians, to honor the memory of these men and the mourning that has affected their families, that I ask all Italian Mayors – invited the President Decaro – to display the flag at half mast, following the example of what was decided by the Mayor of Limbiate, the Municipality where Attanasio was born, and joining the intention of all the representatives of the national institutions, we demonstrate together, as a single community, our participation in the families who have lost their loved ones and our belonging to the country of which Attanasio and Iacovacci were loyal servants ”.
