Messina dies in clinic after an abdominal CT scan: son files a complaint.

#Messina
Antonino Campo, a 73-year-old man, passed away at the San Camillo nursing home in Messina after undergoing an abdominal CT scan with contrast medium. His son filed a complaint with the police to determine if there is any liability.

The elderly man had previously undergone an abdominal ultrasound that revealed a small “caliceal calculus”. He then had a specialist visit at a private clinic, where he was advised to undergo an abdominal CT scan with contrast medium. He had consequently booked the examination at the San Camillo clinic. On Friday morning, the pensioner arrived at the clinic accompanied by a granddaughter, but shortly after entering the room for the examination – as reconstructed in the complaint by the son – the granddaughter noticed some agitation among the staff. Indeed, shortly after, they were contacted and informed that the elderly man had suffered a sudden illness and that the doctors were attempting to resuscitate him. When the son arrived at the clinic, it was too late, and he was informed that his father had passed away.
