The mayor of Menfi has announced the preparation of a resolution to propose to the council the formal declaration of the municipality’s financial disaster. The municipality of Menfi is financially exposed with confirmed debts amounting to 14 million euros. Mayor Vito Clemente, elected as head of a left-wing coalition on May 29, stated that finding solutions rather than assigning blame is now their objective. This procedure is seen as painful but unavoidable.
