Mayor of San Giuseppe Jato mourns tragedy on Palermo-Sciacca road: “A well-known Moroccan family, we are in mourning”

“San Giuseppe Jato is in mourning after the news of the terrible accident last night. The mayor Giuseppe Siviglia is shocked by the death of an 18-month-old boy and a twenty-year-old girl from the village in a road accident on the Palermo – Sciacca road that also caused the injury of two other young people. The girls are part of a well-integrated family of Moroccan origins. The grandparents arrived in the village 40 years ago. The grandmother of the girls who ended up in the hospital has always worked as a domestic collaborator. A respectable person like the grandfather who works in the markets. They are all well known and respected in the village – the mayor adds – They are well liked by everyone and have strong ties with the people of the village. We are trying to understand what happened. Where they were coming from. It is truly a sad moment for our village.”
