Mayor of Cerda self-suspends from regional Antimafia committee

Salvatore Geraci, a regional deputy from the League party, has decided to temporarily suspend himself from the regional Antimafia commission due to his ongoing investigation for allegedly trying to route a procession past the house of a mafia boss. Geraci states that he is doing this out of responsibility and respect for the parliamentary organization, which focuses on studying and investigating matters related to legality and the fight against the mafia. He emphasizes that the accusations against him do not pertain to mafia-related crimes. The president of the Antimafia commission, Antonello Cracolici, appreciates Geraci’s decision to self-suspend to avoid any embarrassment for the commission.
