Man shot in chest in Palermo, son finds him dead and alerts authorities

Salvatore Di Salvo was killed with a gunshot to the chest in the countryside in the Cambuca district in the territory of Partinico (Palermo). He had gone out this morning at dawn to work in a field with his son. The man arrived first in a off-road vehicle. Later, his son arrived on a tractor. He looked for his father, but did not find him in the car. He found him dead on the ground not far from the vehicle. He called 112 and asked for help.

The carabinieri interviewed the son, as well as friends and relatives, to try to reconstruct what happened and determine the cause of the murder. It seems that there were no disputes or conflicts with other landowners. Di Salvo had previous convictions for theft, but they were very old. The Prosecutor’s Office has ordered an autopsy, which will be carried out in the forensic medicine department of the Policlinico hospital in Palermo.
