Man dies in hospital in Agrigento, family threatens doctors

Another case of violence in hospitals. This time the scene of the latest attack on doctors was the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Agrigento. The relatives of a sixty-four-year-old man who died in the Surgery ward of the hospital, upon learning of his death, allegedly began to scream and threaten the healthcare workers. The police were immediately alerted, and the officers from the Flying Squad section of the police station arrived on the scene and tried to restore calm. Amidst the shouts, the family members of the sixty-four-year-old man emphasized that their relative had died due to a two-day delay in transferring him to a better-equipped facility, which according to them, should have been one of the hospitals in Palermo. As is customary in these cases, the on-duty deputy prosecutor ordered the seizure of the medical records and the body, and the family members of the sixty-four-year-old man were interviewed in order to reconstruct the events.
