A 49-year-old man was arrested in Ragusa and placed under house arrest for stalking and domestic abuse. The arrest was carried out by the mobile squad, in collaboration with personnel from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, at the direction of the judge. The man’s former cohabitant had filed numerous complaints due to the persistent harassing conduct of the man, who subjected her to phone harassment and surveillance. Despite being previously ordered to stay away from the family home and prohibited from contacting his ex-wife in 2021, he continued his persecutory behavior, causing serious harm to her peace and psychological well-being. In addition, he had recently started displaying threatening behavior towards the children, often contacting them by phone to gather information about their mother’s whereabouts.
