“Make a difference: stop the violence”, the commitment of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Palermo on the Day against violence against women

Also the territorial section of the ‘Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Palermo , through the working group Equal Opportunities of the National Presidency, participates in the International Day against Violence against Women , with the Flash Mob “Make a difference: stop the violence”. The event, which will see the participation of blind and visually impaired young people and women and various professional and institutional figures, will take place Thursday 25 November from 10. 30 at 12. 30 at the access stairway to the fountain in Piazza Pretoria, also known as Piazza della Vergogna, where Palazzo delle Aquile is located, the representative office of the Municipality of Palermo.

During the event, musical initiatives and testimonies . Furthermore, parchments will be delivered, with a poem about the woman reproduced in printed type and in Braille made by the Regional Printing House of Catania , to the representatives of the institutions and to the guests present. The moment will be part of a network of flash mob events that will be filmed and broadcast in live streaming.

Take part in this day dedicated to gender equality and women’s empowerment – declares the president of ‘Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Palermo – it is for us reason for pride and joy as well as a very important tool for promoting a culture of rights and their protection, for social development, for raising awareness but also for the fight against one of the most devastating violations of human rights.
