He had left active politics for some time, but in Misilmeri he continued to be a familiar face.
Luciano Falletta, a former exponent of the Christian Democrats and mayor of the municipality near Palermo from 11 February 1977 to 15 December of the same year, passed away at the age of 91.

Mayor Rosario Rizzolo announced his death on his Facebook page: “The Administration I represent expresses deep condolences to the family members of the lawyer Luciano Falletta, who passed away today.
Born in Misilmeri on 12 January 1931 – is the text of the post -, it belongs to the political class of the fathers to whom we owe the refoundation of republican Italy after the tragedy of fascism and the second world war “.

Falletta, in fact, had an important role in Sicily that came out of the postwar period.
“Young face of social Christianity – Rizzolo remembers him – he trained at the school of Don Sturzo and Alcide De Gasperi and played a leading role in the Christian Democrats“.

He became involved in politics in the years in which the opposition between the Christian Democrats and the Italian Communist Party was strong “later becoming a witness to the historic compromise”.
