Livatino’s car, symbol of his martyrdom, “must not leave Canicattì”

The mayor of Canicattì, Vincenzo Corbo, has stated that the Ford Fiesta car, which belonged to the beatified judge Rosario Angelo Livatino, is a cultural asset of Canicattì and cannot be transferred outside the city. The car, which has been declared a cultural interest in 2017, is currently being safeguarded by Angelo Terrana, a retired tax collector from Canicattì. The proposal to permanently display the car in Palermo at the Ars was met with opposition from the mayor, who believes it should remain in Canicattì. Corbo praised Terrana for his custodianship of the car and emphasized its value to the territory.
