The return of the wine and bread festival in Lipari is cause for celebration, with the event taking place for over 30 years in the residential district of Pianoconte. The first day saw locals, vacationers, and even foreign tourists gathering in the Santa Croce square in front of the church to sample typical products, enjoy a good plate of pasta, a glass of wine, music, dancing, and festivities late into the night. The popular event is organized by the Terme di San Calogero association and includes a debate on the cultivation of durum wheat, which is increasingly successful on the island. Overall, the festival has gained a significant reputation and has received financial support from the Sicilian Tourism Department, showcasing the fruitful results of their efforts.
