Licata, car of a housewife on fire: bottle with traces of petrol seized

The police are investigating a news story that took place in Licata. A car owned by a 35-year-old farm laborer, which was however used by his sister, a 37-year-old housewife, was set on fire in via Vetruvio. When the firefighters arrived and put out the flames, the Fiat Grande Punto was already seriously damaged. There seems to be no doubt as to the intentional origin of the fire. Among other things, a plastic bottle was found inside the car, inside which traces of flammable liquid were allegedly found. The policemen seized the container for examination.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Agrigento has opened an investigation file by unknown persons, even though witnesses have stated that they saw two people aboard a scooter leaving the site of the fire shortly before it flared up. The officers also heard from the police station the owner of the vehicle and the sister who actually used and owned the vehicle.
