Liberty Lines celebrates 30 years and prepares to launch the Vittorio Morace ship
30 years have passed since Captain Vittorio Morace and his son Ettore decided to create a shipping company specializing in fast passenger transportation. Thus Ustica Lines was born, with a single hydrofoil connecting the ports of Naples, Ustica, Favignana, Trapani, Pantelleria, and Kelibia in Tunisia. Over the years, the company has grown, seizing new market opportunities, acquiring competitors, and investing in innovative fast vessels. Today, Liberty Lines is the world’s largest fast passenger maritime transport company with a fleet of 30 Hsc vessels, a shipyard, and a team of over 650 employees. Thanks to these numbers, Liberty Lines has been able to provide services to the 3 million passengers who have chosen to travel between Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Calabria, Sicily, and smaller islands, with over 100,000 departures available in 2023. To celebrate the company’s thirtieth anniversary, the Hsc Vittorio Morace, the first of 9 innovative fast hybrid vessels ordered by Liberty Lines in 2022, will be launched in Spain. The Hsc Vittorio Morace is equipped with two MTU-Rolls Royce hybrid engines, capable of significant emission reductions, surpassing current maritime emission regulations.
