The former mayor of Palermo and top candidate for Avs in the Islands, Leoluca Orlando, has been elected to the European Parliament. “In light of the proclamations that have taken place – Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra deputies Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni stated in a press release – and the decisions made by the candidates who were elected in multiple districts, we announce that the six elected members of the European Parliament are: Ilaria Salis, Mimmo Lucano, Ignazio Marino, Cristina Guarda, Leoluca Orlando, and Benedetta Scuderi. We wish them the best of luck in their work and in bringing the issues of social justice, climate, and peace from the program of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra to the European Parliament.”
