The nightmare of fires in Siracusa has no end, and this time hectares of vegetation between the districts of Monasteri and Spinagallo are being devoured by flames. Very high columns of smoke are visible even several kilometers away.

The fire, driven by the wind, quickly spread, threatening some private properties with large piles of undergrowth. Some stables in the area are also at risk. Dozens of calls have been made to the fire department hotline: a massive intervention with ground crews, but forest rangers and two teams from Civil Protection are also in action. In the most inaccessible areas, helicopters from the forestry department and a Canadair plane have been called in to try to contain the blaze.
