#Agrigento
In recent days, in Lampedusa, the financial police arrested a 52-year-old man in flagrante delicto, found in possession of nearly four kilograms of cocaine. The operation took place on the morning of July 31st, when the officers searched the home of a suspected drug dealer who had been under investigation for some time. They found two sealed kilo blocks of cocaine, along with 67 grams of the same substance ready to be packaged, two precision scales, and €5,900 in variously sized banknotes hidden throughout the house, including in unusual places such as a potato chip can. The officers also examined a cell phone found in the possession of the alleged dealer and discovered a recent photograph in the gallery showing characteristic vegetation of the island. With their detailed knowledge of the area, they were able to determine the exact location where the photo was taken and visited it to inspect the site. Hidden in a bush, they found two more kilo blocks of cocaine, matching those found in the man’s house, with a total weight of approximately 2.4 kg. Following a request from the prosecutor’s office in Agrigento, a judge validated the arrest and ordered the suspect to be held in custody.
