Lampedusa, 26 Moroccans and Tunisians land on Guitgia beach

Twenty-six Moroccans and Tunisians were tracked down by the carabinieri on the Guitgia beach in Lampedusa. They had just landed in a 6-metre punt that had set sail from Sfax. Another 40, originally from the Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Togo, were instead rescued offshore by a Frontex patrol boat. The migrants who arrived in Lampedusa from midnight rise to 5, with a total of 184. In the two groups, also women and children. All were taken to the hotspot from where 80 people are leaving to be embarked on the scheduled ferry which will arrive at Porto Empedocle at dawn tomorrow.
