Investigation on Silver Nest and bribes in Partinico, three reach plea deal

The judge Paolo Magro has lifted the reserve and accepted the plea bargain proposal from three of the main suspects in the investigation on the corruption scheme between local authorities and the cooperative Nido d’argento in Partinico. The owner of the cooperative, Giuseppe Gaglio, 62 years old from Partinico, received a sentence of 4 years and 4 months; the employees and close collaborators Massimiliano Terzo, 44 years old from Monreale, and Francesco Chiavello, 62 years old from Partinico, were sentenced to 4 years and 2 years and 11 months respectively. Chiavello also had his sentence commuted to “community service”. Gaglio and Chiavello were defended by lawyers Nino Agnello and Loredana Culò, while Terzo was represented by Daniele Giambruno. This marks the exit of what can be considered the key figure in the entire investigation, Giuseppe Gaglio, who is well-known not only for his social work but also for his role in revitalizing the Borgo Parrini, a rural area on the outskirts of Partinico, and promoting it as a tourist destination.
