The Yellow Flames of Ragusa have discovered a significant tax fraud in the sale of cars, involving a dealer from the province. According to the investigations carried out by the military of the Pozzallo Garrison, the dealer did not declare any positive income elements for an amount exceeding 1,373,000 euros, evading VAT for over 256,000 euros. Collaboration with the authorities in Germany and Hungary has revealed how the company, by fictitiously inserting non-existent individuals into the contractual phases, made it appear that the purchases made in the course of business were actually made between private individuals.

This system, in addition to allowing the national dealer to circumvent the application of the VAT tax regime provided for intra-community purchases, resulting in significant damage to public finances, has also caused a serious disturbance to the market, as the dealer was able to offer particularly competitive prices compared to other operators in the sector. They have been reported to the judicial authorities for false declaration.

The operation, initiated by the finance police in Pozzallo, is part of the broader “Operation Hurricane”, coordinated by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Turin, which has involved foreign suppliers of the verified company. Within the framework of this operation, five individuals have already been arrested, 450 searches have been carried out throughout Europe (including 50 in Italy), and luxury properties and cars have been seized in Italy, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.
