Yet another doctor attacked, a new case that adds to the trail of violence in hospitals and healthcare facilities. A female doctor serving at the Medina general clinic in Palma di Montechiaro was insulted and threatened.

“An act of cowardice and absolutely deplorable,” said Santo Pitruzzella, president of the Order of Surgeons and Dentists (Omceo) of Agrigento. “The doctor was the victim of verbal aggression by a man. Every possible measure must be taken to discourage the recurrence of such episodes, and it must be done quickly, because every day the lives of our doctors are at risk.”
