Tragic accident during a motorcycle gathering in the Madonie area, in Palermo, where a chief inspector of the municipal police of Caltanissetta, Giovanni Calvagno, aged 59, died. The accident, which did not involve any other vehicles, occurred along the state road 286 near Castelbuono. The inspector, highly esteemed by his colleagues in the Municipal Police, was known in the city for his human and professional qualities. Always smiling and helpful to everyone. One of his great passions in his free time was motorcycles. For reasons still to be determined, the inspector reportedly lost control of the motorcycle, ending up off the road in one of the bends of that road, crashing into a barbed wire fence. It seems that the man died instantly. Carabinieri from the Petralia Sottana company and the 118 ambulance arrived on the scene, confirming that there was nothing more they could do for the motorcyclist.
