Ingv warns of high-level activity as Stromboli’s fiery eruptions resume

The Etna Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology (Ingv), at around 5:38 today, detected the beginning of activity on Stromboli. A “sciara del Fuoco” can be seen from the volcano, visible from the cameras and seismic trace at the Istr station. Seismically, the amplitude of the volcanic tremor is currently at high levels, which is of interest to experts.

There are no significant changes reported in the occurrence rate and the amplitude of the explosion quakes. The signals from the networks at this time do not show significant variations.

The “sciara del Fuoco” runs along the northern flank of the island and is delimited by two ridges. With its incessant activity, it continues to be one of the main tourist attractions on the island.
