A 67-year-old man, S.G, died as a result of injuries sustained in a downtown Catania accident. He passed away at Cannizzaro Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. The collision between his scooter and a bus left him with no chance of survival: the impact occurred at the intersection of Corso Italia and Viale Libertà. The moped got trapped underneath the Interbus vehicle, which was traveling the Catania Airport-Giardini-Taormina route.

An ambulance from the emergency services immediately arrived on Corso Italia and transported the 67-year-old to the hospital with a red code. On the scene, where severe traffic slowdowns also occurred, the accident investigators arrived to gather evidence and accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the collision.
