Incendi: CNA donates thousand olive trees to Cefalù, Gratteri, and Lascari.
Following the fires that have affected the municipalities of Lascari, Gratteri, and Cefalù in the province of Palermo, which broke out on September 22nd, and the death of Maria David, the woman who bravely saved her horses from the flames, the Cna (Confederazione Nazionale dell’Artigianato e della Piccola e Media Impresa) has donated one thousand olive trees to each of the three municipalities. A delegation, led by Dario Costantini, the national president of Cna, met with the three mayors. The municipalities held a council meeting attended by mayors, councillors, Cna delegates, and residents affected by the fires. The Cna stated that it wants to demonstrate its support for the affected populations, with the aim of suggesting effective prevention measures to the central government. They also made a plea to the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, and the Minister for Agriculture, Luca Sammartino. Costantini informed Minister Francesco Lollobrigida about his visit, and he plans to report on what he witnessed, including the tension and concern felt by the communities, as well as the proposed measures to prevent future fires.
